Scranton Enterprise Center

Scranton, PA

Situated at the corner of Lackawanna Avenue and Franklin Avenue, this building in downtown Scranton anchors one of the city’s most prominent intersections. The project was completed on a fast-track schedule; Phase I, consisting of 41,000 SF, opened in 2002, and Phase II, a 24,000 SF expansion, was completed in the summer of 2004.

The building features Class “A” office space, with the first and third floors housing permanent tenants.  The second floor of the building is configured as a business incubator space to nurture young companies.  The incubator features flexible work areas and shared infrastructure such as copy centers and conference rooms. The ground level of Phase II provides covered parking for tenants of the facility.

Set on a tight urban site, the building reintroduces a strong, unified streetscape to the once-blighted Lackawanna Avenue. The materials and forms of the building, particularly the pre-cast arches, brick, and exposed steel reference to Scranton’s impressive late-19th and early-20th Century architectural heritage, while steel sunscreens and large expanses of glass firmly establish the building in the 21st Century.
