hemmler + camayd architects was engaged by two young New Yorkers to restore the exterior of the Blair Mansion and redesign the interior as a boutique hotel and event center.
The Mansion provided numerous bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floors that adapted well as hotel suites. Stately rooms on the first and a grand hall and three-level monumental staircase make for gracious reception. The original service areas are now coat and rest rooms. New construction provides a multi-purpose space, detailed similarly to the original, that seats 70 for dining, backed by a commercial kitchen. The set back of the addition creates an outdoor gathering space easily tented for larger-scale events.
The massive colonnade that gives the facility its name was rebuilt in kind.
Construction Cost: $1,200,000
