Marywood University – Learning Commons
Architects of Record: hemmler + camayd architects and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson
The Learning Commons is a state of the art library and teaching facility at the heart of Marywood University’s green campus. The library collection is housed in a central automatic retrieval vault, freeing adjacent floor space for open reading areas and group study. Extensive use of glass opens the interior to the park-like campus and provides transparency of function from the exterior.
Program: Study areas, staff offices, work areas, café, conference rooms, group study rooms, seminar rooms, reading areas, media production and recording rooms, instruction rooms, roof terraces, Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) and a green roof.
Services: Programing, Architecture and Interiors.
