Scranton, PA – We are proud to introduce the newest members of our team: Bob Weiss, Scranton, PA, Technical Coordinator, has over twenty years’ experience in the industry. Reagan King, Scranton, PA, Architectural Designer, is a graduate of the Catholic University of America. She received her M.ARCH in 2008 and has over 6 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining the h + c team, she also served as an adjunct professor at Marywood University’s School of Architecture where she taught Foundation Design studios and Digital Media courses. Bart Bajda, Scranton, PA, Architectural Designer, was an intern at h+c while he was a student at Marywood University’s School of Architecture. He joined h+c’s team upon graduation. Lee Borzell, Interior Architect, is a graduate of Marywood University’s first Master’s degree program in Interior Architecture and is passionate about interior design.

Scranton, PA – hemmler + camayd architects, the award winning architecture, interior design and planning firm based in Scranton and practicing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new partners to the firm. Brian Doran, Thomas Gercak, Laura Gillette-Mills and Ken Ruby are recognized for their dedication to the practice and service to the firm’s clients.

These four professionals have consistently contributed to the excellence and exceptional quality of the work for which hemmler + camayd architects is known. Each new partner excels in different aspects of the profession, but all are natural leaders who embrace the concept of teamwork and value the importance of good design and quality architecture.

Mr. Brian Doran, AIA, LEED AP BD+C graduated from Temple University and Keystone College and is a resident of Lehman Township. Brian has been part of the hemmler + camayd architects’ team for 15 years. His strengths include design, sustainability, constructability and project management. A strong advocate of community service and professional development, Brian has served as a board member of the NEPA Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Lehman Township Planning Commission. Brian has worked on the School of Architecture at Marywood University, the Mt. Airy Casino and Resort, PPL Flex Building at the Susquehanna Station and is currently involved in the International Sports Training Camp in Reeders, PA.

Mr. Thomas Gercak, RA, LEED AP BD+C, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and Drexel University, has been with the firm for 10 years and resides in Wyoming, PA. He endeavors to incorporate aspects of sustainable design as a standard for the firm. Tom, who is NCARB Certified, has contributed to the firms’ quality of building code expertise, project management, construction documentation and construction administration. Tom has been involved in projects at Moravian Village, Wyoming Seminary and is currently involved in projects at the Bear Creek Community Charter School and St. Jude’s Church in Mountaintop.

Ms. Laura Gillette-Mills, AAIA, received her Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Philadelphia University and is a resident of Dunmore.  Prior to joining the firm 8 years ago, Laura served as a building code official with the City of Scranton. She combines her thorough knowledge and understanding of code compliance with her planning and design skills. Laura, a project manager with the firm, is also active in business development. Laura has been instrumental in the firm’s projects at Misericordia University, Marywood University, The Wright Center and Lackawanna College. She is currently involved in Dining Room Additions to Moravian Village in Bethlehem.  Laura is also the Associate Representative for the State’s NEPA AIA chapter.

Mr. Ken Ruby, LEED AP BD+C received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton and his Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Ken resides in Spring Brook and has been with the firm for 25 years. His expertise includes preparation of all technical specifications and bidding documents, budget and estimate development, and project and risk management for the firm as well as the firm’s clients. Some of Ken’s projects have included the LEED Gold Certified Lackawanna College Environmental Institute, projects at St. Joseph’s Center and currently offices and maintenance facilities for the Pennsylvania Department of Forestry in Lycoming and Tioga Counties.
