U of S Leahy

University of Scranton

Leahy Hall
Scranton, PA

This massive 110,000 SF, eight-story structure houses state-of-the-art teaching facilities for the disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Exercise Science. Laboratories, lecture halls, simulated exterior streetscapes and interior living spaces provide the most comprehensive learning conditions for students in these disciplines.   The building links to a supporting building by means of a large, free-flowing lobby with a lounge and food service areas at grade level, and passing through to a double-volume, multi-purpose lecture hall and event space on the second level, perched quietly above the bustle of the downtown and campus below.  The refined limestone and glass exterior reflects and complements both surrounding campus areas and existing downtown architecture, in a way that marries both the existing and the new, and fits both strikingly and seamlessly into the streetscape of this urban campus

This project was awarded LEED Silver.
