International Gymnastic Camp, Northeastern, PA
Turner Gymnastic Center and Museum
Stroudsburg, Monroe County, PA
hc architects completed a feasibility study with a team of professionals for The International Gymnastics Camp. IGC is a world-class training facility solely dedicated to gymnasts that offers a unique combination of an exceptional summer camp experience with first class gymnastics training.
The construction of the proposed Turner Gymnastics Center and Museum represents a significant step in fulfilling the Klauss family’s vision for state of the art training/competition space. A space that celebrates the two-hundred year old turner tradition. This ample exhibition space will display and interpret historic artifacts and memorabilia and will be open free of charge to the visiting public.
Conceived as a phased project to be implemented over time, Phase I of the plan includes the aforementioned museum and a 20,000 sf, column-free, flexible competition space capable of televising events to a national audience. A facility of this caliber will attract the highest quality trainers and Olympians who will lend their expertise and reputation to the IGC. Phase II will provide complimentary training, weight room, and food service facilities. Looking into the future, a possible Phase III may add complimentary amenities in response to the demands of a growing enrollment.
