Lackawanna County Children’s Library
Scranton, PA
hc architects solved the problem of overcrowding in the Albright Memorial Library Building by adapting and reusing the adjacent underutilized First Church of Christ Scientist Building in Scranton’s historic Gothic District. The main floor was transformed into a children’s library, complete with a hand-crafted miniature city that celebrates Lackawanna County’s historic landmarks, and the mezzanine was turned into office and meeting space for the County Library Board.
