First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit
Clarks Summit, PA
hc architects completed an upgrade of this existing suburban church. All areas except the sanctuary received new finishes, lighting, and handicapped accessibility provisions. Because the existing building had no “front door”, a new vestibule and narthex were added to welcome worshippers to the church.
The lower level, which contains Christian education classrooms and a large multipurpose space, was completely renovated. The lower level was brought up to code and new mechanical and electrical systems were installed.
Miscellaneous improvements to the exterior included new paint, gutters, downspouts, and some new windows. Other exterior upgrades included an expanded and reorganized parking lot on a sloping site.
