St. Peter’s Cathedral

Scranton, PA

St. Peter’s Cathedral, the first masonry Catholic Church in Northeastern Pennsylvania, serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton. hc architects rebuilt the masonry skin on the exterior in-kind and made sympathetic updates on the interior to bring the elaborate, highly renovated structure into visual harmony. Contemporary lighting, sound, and HVAC are all handled with visual discretion so as to not distract from the sacred liturgical environment. The renovated St. Peter’s hosts many diocesan services that are seen by multitudes near and far, allowing many to experience the services and the worship space through integrated technology.
